Why we are honoring this Pink Mafia Sister…..

The Mafia met Karen "Lew" back at the Chicks Rock! Boogie in Elsinore, CA during their 2003 travels. She was not able to participate in an initiation jump due to an injury from which she was still recovering, but there was just something remarkable about this woman that stood out to the Pink Mafia!
Lew is a staff videographer at Skydive Elsinore and has over 1000 jumps at 25 different drop zones. She's had several of her photos published in Parachutist magazine and one from the WFFC published in the Chicago Tribune. She was also the highest selling photographer of the Martini Shot Film crew at last year's WFFC, in which she was the only female camera flyer!
It is quite obvious that this woman has a passion for art and is good at what she does with it. In fact, Lew's artistic nature made a huge contribution to the Pink Mafia when she provided them with a new logo design for their merchandise (can be seen on the icon for this gallery).
Thanks to Lew, many wonderful things have been done with the new design. T-shirts were printed with the logo and sold at the Zhills Pink Mafia boogie held in February, in which proceeds were donated to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research. Magnets containing the new design were also produced and distributed to participants of the Freefly Money Meet held in Eloy, AZ.
Our appreciation must be expressed to thank Lew for all that she has done to represent and support a group that is here to create a bond for women in skydiving!
